Guest guest
I have made this as the recipe suggests, but also with canned soybeans and a grocery bought prepared crust, with good results. * Exported from MasterCook * Sweet Bean Pie Recipe By :Fabulous Beans by Barb Bloomfield Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- CRUST 1/2 cup whole wheat flour 1/2 cup unbleached white flour 1/8 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon sesame seeds 2 tablespoons canola oil (the more oil you use, the less chewy and more flaky the crust will be) 1/3 cup water FILLING 1 1/3 cups low-fat soy milk 3 cups cooked white beans 2/3 cup honey 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon cloves 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 1/8 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons unbleached white flour Mix the flour, salt, sesame seeds, canola oil, and water with a fork. Work the dough with your hands until a smootth ball forms. Add more water if the dough is too dry or tends to break when you are rolling it out. Add more flour if the dough is too sticky. On a floured board, roll out the dough into a circle about 13 " in diameter. Move the crust into a 9 " pie pan, turn the outer edge under, and pressit with a fork or make a fluted design with your fingers. Put the crust aside until the filling is ready. Preheat the oven to 350F. Put the soymilk, white beabs, honey, vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, salt, and flour in a blender, and combine until creamy. Pour into the unbaked pie shell, and bake for 45 minutes. Cool before serving. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Per serving: 209 Calories (kcal); 1g Total Fat; (2% calories from fat); 8g Protein; 46g Carbohydrate; 0mg Cholesterol; 73mg Sodium Food Exchanges: 1 1/2 Grain(Starch); 1/2 Lean Meat; 0 Vegetable; 0 Fruit; 0 Fat; 1 1/2 Other Carbohydrates Nutr.
