Reduce the heat to medium, whisk in the cornstarch mixture, and simmer, stirring, for 2 minutes, or until the sauce thickens. Slowly whisk in the soy milk, being careful not to boil. Adjust seasonings. Author's note: A flavorful all-purpose brown sauce that can be used on anything from burgers and cutlets to grains and potatoes. You can add sauteed minced onions or sliced mushrooms for added flavor.
