Broccoli with Chinese Flavors

1 cup orange juice

2 teaspoons cornstarch

1 tablespoon soy sauce

2 teaspoons grated peeled gingerroot

2 cloves garlic -- minced

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper -- (to 1/2 tsp)

1 teaspoon sesame oil

4 cups chopped broccoli -- steamed

 

In a small saucepan, mix 2 tablespoons of the orange juice and the

cornstarch to form a thin paste. Gradually stir in the remaining orange

juice, then stir in the soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and pepper flakes; bring

to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer until thickened, 3-4 minutes.

Remove from the heat and stir in the oil. Drizzle over broccoli.
