Guest guest
Dear List Members, Just a suggestion for those who are "Virgo types" when it comes to numerical values...;-) If you are using Goravani Jyotish to calculate Krushna's ayanamsa, I have another suggestion, in addition to Peter's, that you may want to try. If you are re-calculating many charts, this method can be a tedious and time-consuming task, however, if doing just one chart at a time, the results and accuracy in comparison to Krushna's ayanamsa may be well worth the effort. Follow the directions Peter has given, however, on the top, in the yellow box, click on "Use Manual Below". then on the "User Defined" category, click the bottom button "Use List Also". To the right you will see a few boxes for dates and Ayanamsa's appear. Now say the birthday was June 12, 1998. In the top box, enter the 01/01/1998, with Krushna's ayanamsa 22:48:00 next to it for that year. On the second line enter 01/01/1999, with Krushna's ayanamsa 22:48:51 for that year. Leave all the other values as Peter has stated - (alignment date of 02/24/0366 with the precession rate set at 50.33. As this method searches between the dates you have given, for the exact ayanamsa, the results should compare very closely, if not exactly, to Krushna's ayanamsa from his Table, whereas the other methods may be off by quite a few seconds in comparison. You can determine the accuracy of this method by first figuring out, from Krushna's table and formula, the correct ayanamsa for the chart you are working on. ~Namaste~ Sandy
