Guest guest
Dear Sandy, Donna and List Memebers, Sorry about that I forgat to mention that we should all be using Varahramiriha astakavarga, which I had disvovered some weeks ago. My error and I,m sorry about that. Now I spent several hours trying out the non straight line method which Sandy suggested. I had tried this before and had no success but I couldn't remember why - today I found out. QWhen I tried to add three dates in the list to try and correct some of the discrepancies the program froze. I reduced this to two dates on the list and it still froze. It did work when I only added one date. This is my computer which is nearly 2 years old and perhaps a later one would work - I just don't know about that. For your information I have a Pentium 2 267MH chip and 128MB ram. Using only one date I tried the ayanamsas at 9 different years from Krushna's list and the results were very variable. Somewhere on the list the ayanamsa still varied from that of Krushna by about 48 seconds. The actual year depended on which years ayanamsa I ha dput on the list - if I used say 1900 then the ayanamsa would still show a large variation at the 2000 year, and vice versa. Using 1950 provided the best all round option. During the time I was running these tests I also checked on the lagna each time and THE LAGNA VARIED BY NOT MORE THAN ABOUT 1 MINUTE. This was the case whichever date I used for the list and even if I went back to the straight line option - it also agreed with the lagna given by the offset I suggested for PL. This made me think a bit and made me have a rethink as to what exactly we were trying to do. Really the ayanamsa is irrelevent to our objective - what we really need is to get the lagna and the Moon in the same position as Krushna. If we can do that then all the charts and all the astakavarga bidus will automaticall be the same . IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE AYANAMSA IS 30 OR 40 SECONDS OUT PROVIDED IT GIVES THE SAME LAGNA AND MOON. If you think about this you will see that it is true and more than that, as the lagana is the more sensitive of the two all we really need to do is get the lagna very close, if this is done then Moon will be exact in most cases and not more than 1 second out in others. This is in fact as close as most computer programs get it anyway. With the setting I suggested in my addendum the lagna will always agree with each other in GJ and PL. This I checked for about 10 years spread out over the 20th century. It will also give the same bindu distribution which is really all we want. I am not sure how close this would be to the lagna and Moon using Krushna's Visual Jyotish but as long as the Moon is close and the lagna is in the same house that's really all we need. I leave it up to you. Peter
