Why everything is dear

------------------------------

In very truth, a husband is not dear that you may love the husband,

but that one may love the Self. That is why a husband is dear.

In truth, the wife is not dear that one may love the wife, but that

one may love the Self. That is why a wife is dear.

In truth, sons are not dear that one may love the sons, but that one

may love the Self. That is why sons are dear.

In truth, wealth is not dear that one may love wealth, but that one

may love the Self. That is why wealth is dear.

In truth, the world is not dear that one may love the world, but that

one may love the Self. That is why the world is dear.

In truth, the gods are not dear that one may love the gods, but that

one may love the Self. That is why the gods are dear.

In truth, creatures not dear that one may love creatures, but that

one may love the Self. That is why creatures are dear.

In truth, everything is not dear that one may love everything, but

that one may love the Self. That is why everything is dear.

In truth, the Self is what is to be seen, to be heard, to be

perceived, to be known. When we see, hear, perceive, and know the

Self, then everything to be known is truly known.

Not two,

Richard
