Ego is not.

An ego is a nonexistence.

No one has ever seen

An ego at any time.

Upon the ego is based all

Ignorance and misidentification.

The inner discovery of

The nonexistence of the ego

Is the end of all

Ignorance and misidentification.

The ego has no

Form of its own.

Stripped of its coverings,

Of it nothing remains.

An ego cannot be

Produced by the Self,

Cannot be produced

By anything else,

And cannot be self-produced.

So, where is bondage

And for whom?

With the rise of the imagined ego,

All else appears.

With the disappearance of the ego, All else is not.

All illusion is ignorance. Ignorance is misidentification.

All misidentification is the ego. The ego is nonexistent.

All illusion is based upon the ego, Contained in the ego,

For the ego,

Imagined by the ego,

But illusory is the ego itself.

All the known is for the " I, "

But the " I " does not exist at all. Just as there are

No drops in the ocean

And no corners in space,

There are no individuals

In the Reality of Being.

The ego is only

A false assumption,

Assumed by no one.

The Self alone is;

Ego is not
