Guest guest
Dear Group, We are back from traveling to San Diego for a last visit with my wife's two kids Both in their 20's, getting started in their adult lives. One is in art school, the other in New York, an aspiring actress. For the next week and a half we are living in a room at the SAT temple. This is a wonderful transition space for us, moving from the western life-style (which was accentuated by our 'Silicon Valley' life.) I am at the Santa Cruz library, where there is free wi-fi, and quiet tables to set at. There is no wi-fi at the temple. We have a quiet and small room. We are able to go into the meditation hall and meditate. Those that we talk to there are filled with love of the non-dual Truth. Some days we have the chance to say a few words with Nome. We now have the final winnowing to do with our remaining worldly possessions. We took more to the Temple than we will take to India. It was so much of a task to deal with all the objects we had accumulated that we deferred some decisions to the next few days. Then next week will be a five-day retreat, the Truth Revealed retreat. And about 8 hours after it is over, then we get on a Singapore airlines flight to Chennai. My wife has a bit of the sense of 'what have we done?' But this will pass. We understand this as the ego, reacting to the loss of a big set of material 'props' that ego held to. Since we see this as ego, and dissolution of ego is key to practice, then this reaction is just another opportunity for practice. I feel so taken care of by Ramana. After deciding to go live in the shadow of Arunachala, we have been presented with a place to live that is much more quiet and private than is often the case in India. And we were presented with this chance to stay at the SAT temple on the way to Tiru. Not two, Richard
