Guest guest
According to CNN this morning, the U.S. is dropping large amounts of food and medicine over Afghanistan to help the Afghan people survive these difficult times. Bill Hemmer (CNN) reported that the food shipments contain " no animal products. " Has anyone heard this from any other source?
Guest guest
From the previously posted reuters/ news - http://dailynews./h/nm/20011008/ts/attack_airdrops_dc_2.html it says " They include rice, vegetables and fruit and no animal products, such as pork, which Muslims do not eat. " Does that mean the food is dehydrated or is it fresh? I would presume it must be dehydrated as fresh food would spoil too quickly since there's no telling when someone will pick it up. If its dehydrated, does that mean its reconstituted by adding water to it? As far as the fruit and vegetables go, that doesn't sound very appetizing at all. :-( Has anyone ever eaten military rations? Enlighten the rest of us as far as what its like... On a side note, if they can do these " vegan " food packs for relief aid, they should also be able to provide it to people in jail, too! I remember hearing Klaper speak several years ago. He talked about working with NASA for food & space colonies and I believe he said the concept was based around vegetarian food.. (it might have been vegan, I can't remember).
