The scholarship will cover tuition in CEA’s class " Site Promotion and Marketing. " The course is held Saturdays, Dec 1 – 22, 10-1pm. The 4 scholarship winners, as well as the other students will have the option of working on their own website, or on a website from a nonprofit attendee. Here’s a description of the course: Web Site Promotion Wonder how to promote your website without spending a fortune? Or how search engines really work, and how to get listed properly? These are just a few of the topics covered in this hands-on course. Using a real website, you will learn not only the ins and outs of search engines, but how to submit sites to guides, directories and lists, registration servers, techniques for attracting the masses, using email properly, placing ads for free and how to use website statistics packages to improve your site. Prerequisite for the course is basic HTML skills. To be eligible, the organization must be a 510©(3) nonprofit, and the person who would enroll in the class must be a full-time employee of the organization. To apply, send the following information on agency letterhead: 1. Mission, audience, and budget 2. A statement of how you think this class will help you help your audience 3. Verification of the employee’s fulltime employment status Also include a copy of your letter from the IRS confirming your 510©(3) status.
