Guest guest
Hi everyone, I've been talking to a few people about this new group. Some people think of it as an e-mail list, others think of it as a " club " or group of people.. a community of sorts. I tend to share the latter view... I attended the video screening of " A Cow At My Table " organized by VIVA and ARDAC. In the film, Carol Adams' statement really resonated with me... she said its not the nutritional part of being veg*n thats difficult, it's the social part. Speaking from many years of veg*n experience, I'm managing the social aspect of it quite well. But when I was a new to being veg*n, yes, it was difficult. Occasionally it still is. But that's why I hope veg*n communities such as ours can help each other with questions, sharing information, etc. We've gained quite a few new members recently and that's wonderful (total presently at 85). One of the members suggested that we create a members database which we could used to get to know each other or find each other. If you're interested in participating, please feel free to add your name. Note - to use the special features of the groups, such as the database, calendar, chat, and polls, requires you have a ID. This ID can be linked to your existing e-mail account or a new free account. If you would like to take advantage of these advanced features of the group and need help, please e-mail me privately and I will send you directions. Here's the direct link to the database: /database Please also vote in the polls! Surely you have an opinion as to when we'll have a vegetarian President, or whether you'd date a carnivore... and inquiring minds want to know! Once you vote, you'll be able to see how everyone else voted. /polls We've also got a question on the demographics of veg*ns, single/not single, veg*n, etc. I'm kinda surprised at the results... It wasn't what I expected actually. Anyways, one more reminder - if you plan events, or know of events happening, please put them on the calendar -- the more veg & animal events, the better!
