Guest guest
I bought a mock leather jacket from them half a year ago and the quality is quite good. However, the first one they sent was damaged in shipping. They exchanged it at no charge (except shipping from my location). You might want to contact them and ask for a replacement. And please let us know how things turn out. - " Jessica " <jessiquitaa Monday, November 19, 2001 9:34 PM Vegetarian Shoes > I recently ordered the " Anna Sandals " from Vegetarian Shoes > (http://www.vegetarian-shoes.co.uk). Guest guest
Hi everyone, Jessica, thanks for alerting us to this! Total bummer. Please let us know what kind of response you get from Vegetarian Shoes. Maybe you could give them a not-so-subtle hint that your local veggie group of over 100 folks (oo!) is also concerned, and wants to know the outcome too. I did vegan shoes by mail order once. The quality was okay but they didn't fit. I do have one pair that is hemp and another that is made from tree bark (or something) and hemp. The all hemp ones aren't holding up very well (the old Headwaters Hikers). Since then, I primarily buy my shoes at Payless. Guest guest
Hi Jessica and everyone There's a couple of 'local' places that have stocked up-market/expensive veggie shoes. Try calling the following - Eco Goods - 1130 Pacific Ave. Santa Cruz Real Goods - 1324 10th St. Berkeley. I've bought the headwater shoes and hikers from Eco Goods and they didn't last very long (<6 month a pair). I now have a new pair of hemp shoes from Eco Goods where the temp is holding up much better, but the soles are not. I've also ordered several shoes online from the following resource, including Vegetarian Shoes in the UK. I've even been to their store in Brighton and have 3 or 4 pairs vegan (all are still going strong btw). http://www.aesopinc.com http://www.ethicalwares.com/range.htm (my personal fav for selection and service right now) i had more bookmarked but it looks like they have gone out of business. You may also want to check out the following link - http://michaelbluejay.com/veg/cruelty-free.html Oh! and has anyone else noticed that the cheaper shoes from Payless causes static shock problems when you touch a metal object, car door when you get out, or leave an escalator? It happens to me ALL the time. Next time your in my company, watch me open doors. I've been conditioned not to hold the handle firmly. I'm serious, when it gets really bad i have to touch doors with my little pinky first. Take care Chris Jessica [jessiquitaa] Monday, November 19, 2001 9:35 PM Vegetarian Shoes I recently ordered the " Anna Sandals " from Vegetarian Shoes (http://www.vegetarian-shoes.co.uk). I was very disappointed with the quality. The shoes were poorly made (some seams were not completely sewn, the heel is stained) and do not resemble the picture on the site. In some places you can even see glue. I paid $60.10 total including shipping and handling. This was my first time ordering from Vegetarian Shoes. Has anyone ordered from them? Please share your experience. For good quality women's shoes (all man made materials) and great prices, I would recommend the following places: >>Payless (www.payless.com) >>Target (www.target.com) >>Delia's (www.delias.com) >>Chinese Laundry (www.chineselaundry.com)
Guest guest
Eco Goods is awesome! I bought hemp Adidas there. Lasted a long time. Didn't have the same luck with my hemp sandals though. I guess it's just a hit and miss sometimes. They have lots of organic cotton and hemp clothing, sheets, towels, socks, etc. Love that place! I like Payless especially the prices! Haven't had the shocks... hehe.
