Guest guest
This is my second season of watching Providence. It's on Fridays at 8 on NBC. I've always liked it, partly because the dad, Jim Hansen, played by Mike Farrell, is a veterinarian. This year, some vegetarian themes have started to emerge. On the Thanksgiving show, Jim went across town to purchase a lentil loaf for his dinner, his vet assistant, Heather, made some pretty strong anti- meat statements, and four-year-old Hannah observed, " It's mean to eat turkeys. I'm gonna be a 'vegenarian' like Grampa. " Also a turkey was rescued from being sold for dinner, and Jim mentioned some sort of refuge where they might be able to relocate it. It was really nice to see mainstream TV addressing these issues. Must be some veg*ans on the writing staff. Karen
