Guest guest
I buy my dress shoes, hiking boots and belts at Pangea. http://www.veganstore.com/ The belt selection is ok. They do seem to hold up very well. They also sell high quality hemp ties although I haven't bought them. . Guest guest
I had a hard time finding non-leather belts too for a while (since I was looking for a particular style)... Hot Topic has a line of vegan belts that I was happy with, but they're all pretty punk-looking, and maybe not right for everyone. Keep looking around, and you'll find some cloth belts (even hemp) as well as the usual fake leather. Pangea has a few nice belts you might want to look at -- http://www.pangeaveg.com/cgi-bin/miva?Merchant2/merchant.mv+Screen=CTGY & Store_Co\ de=Pangea & Category_Code=03-belts I'm not sure where you'd get cruelty-free ties, even though I'm sure there are plenty out there (try stores that carry hemp products). This is what I found on Pangea -- http://www.pangeaveg.com/cgi-bin/miva?Merchant2/merchant.mv+Screen=PROD & Store_Co\ de=Pangea & Product_Code=745 Most of the men I know don't wear ties anyway. Good luck -- let us know if you find more stuff! - Carla Brauer karrotqueen * Remember the animals this holiday season, and shop with compassion! Over 41 million of these innocent creatures are tortured and killed every year so that stores like Neiman Marcus can sell unnecessary fur products to vain human beings. Please don't let your money support this cruelty -- boycott all stores that sell fur! www.caft.org - easymotion1999 Friday, December 07, 2001 6:32 PM veggie belt and tie Being a veggie not for long, I've been trying a little bit to avoid animal products. Shoes are easy, but for belt, I didn't see any man made material belt. May be cause I didn't search hard, anyone knows better ? Also, I try not to wear silk tie, you need to kill the silk worm in order to make silk. But again, all ties I saw are silk ties. My solution is wear no tie at all. Thanks. eM
Guest guest
At the Do-it-Herself Skillshare today, folks were making belts out of recycled bike inner tubes :-) I've also seen inexpensive men's belts made from a tightly woven/knit material (usually colored, like black or navy) at Ross & Marshall type stores. In previous years, I've also seen black vinyl men's belts at department stores like Wards or Penney's. Anyways, update us if you get more current info on local sources of vegan men's belts, it's always handy information to have.
