Guest guest
Are there any fast food vegetarian or vegan places to eat in the East Bay or in SF? (not interested in establishments that are not vegetarian or vegan) thanks much Cyn http://everythingcomputers.shopexcite.com/ (computers, PDA's, music, books, and digital cameras) 10% of profits donated to animal rights organizations. Guest guest
Hi Cyn Don't forget to check out www.vegdining.com Not strickly fast food, but you may want to check these places out that have fast service. In the East Bay/Oakland area there's Golden Lotus on Franklin. In SF, try Herbivores (21st/Valencia) and Golden Era (O'Farrell), there's also Juicey Lucy's on Columbus. Do places with a lunch buffet count as fast food? There are a few in SF - wait for Miss outdoors to show up and I'm sure she'll have a list Take care Chris veggal2000 [veggal2000] Thursday, December 20, 2001 12:17 PM vegan fast food... Guest guest
Cyn, I know you mentioned that you are not interested in establishments that are not vegetarian or vegan... but I have a place that is really worth checking out so I thought I would mention it anyway... Lanesplitter 2033 San Pablo (@University Ave.) in Berkeley They have vegan not-a-ricotta that they put on their pizzas, calzones, and eggplant bake. Great lunch deals (pizza with side salad). Definitely worth checking out!! Jessica , " veggal2000 " <veggal2000> wrote: > > > Are there any fast food vegetarian or vegan places to eat in > the East Bay or in SF? Guest guest
I've been to juicy lucy's a couple of times and always enjoyed the food. The juices are great, and everything I've had was really fresh although some dishes can be a bit bland. They do have a great dessert selection (always an important factor) and the vibe is really relaxed.
Guest guest
Anyone been to Juicy Lucy's in SF? How is it? It's got great Karma! Looks like something from another era. The owner was there when we went (her name isn't Lucy though), she was nice to chat with. I've only been there once, but it seemed like a lot of ingredients were organic. Soups, sandwiches, salads, drinks (smoothies, juices, no coffee), as well as baked vegan goodies. I had the tofu sandwich and it was good... Not your typical sandwich shop (you'll know what I mean when you get there). Definitely a place I would go back to again. Michael's in Berkeley I think they are closed! They're not on vegdining.com, at any rate. This was a 60s style diner that opened several years ago. I only went a couple of times because the dishes were either vegan or vegetarian depending on who you talked to... Tammy Saturday - 12/22, vegan holiday/winter solstice party in Alameda! Guest guest
That's a good question ... you know, my favourite SF restaurant, Golden Era, has pretty quick take-out service. But, anyhow, you may want to check out this website: http://www.vegeats.com/restaurants/ca-sf.htm It lists the Bay Area veg places, and notes if they're all veg or just " veg friendly, " what kind of food they serve, and if they have fast food. If you're considering checking out a restaurant listed on this site, I would recommend calling ahead just to make sure they're still open. I've no idea how up-to-date this listing is. - Carla Brauer karrotqueen " You must be the change you want to see in the world.
