This event is almost free! 5/3-5: Camp Weekend for Jewish Children With Disabilities and Their Families -- Reply to: fkupferman The Bureau of Jewish Education, in partnership with UAHC Camp Newman, is pleased to announce the first annual family camp weekend for children with disabilities and their families. It will be a time for personal, family and spiritual growth in the tranquil Jewish environment of Camp Newman in Santa Rosa, Friday, May 3 at 5 pm through Sunday, May 5 at 1 pm. Our goals are for families to learn and have fun in a Jewish setting, to create community, and to break through personal barriers. Activities will include: singing, arts and crafts, Alpine Tower, hiking, Shabbat and Havdallah. Families will sleep together, and all rooms have bathrooms with showers and private areas for dressing. Vegetarian meals and snacks are provided. Activities are intended for families and children over age three. A generous grant from the Jewish Community Endowment Kohn Fund of the Jewish community Federation of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties provides a subsidy for each family, making the cost of the weekend $75 per adult and $50 per child. For a brochure and more information about the camp weekend and other programs and services for children with disabilities, please contact Flora Kupferman at fkupferman or 415-751-6983, ext. 122 or visit the BJE website at www.bjesf.org (click on “for educators” and then on “special education”). ===== ---------- The past was good.
