Center for Informed Food Choices' Volunteer Job Openings

The Center for Informed Food Choices (CIFC) is currently looking for a few

talented, creative, and dedicated people to help us further our mission of

providing people with practical skills to transition to a plant-based diet.

Get involved with an innovative and rapidly growing organization! We can't

offer you stock options, a 401(k), or even a paycheck just yet, but we can

give you the opportunity to use your job skills to help make the world a

healthier and happier place. It will only take a few hours a week, so come

on and join us. Here are the positions we currently have available, perfect

for padding any resume:

Administrative Assistant

Help CIFC’s director come out from under a growing heap of general office

tasks, including data entry, letter writing, and financial records upkeep.

We promise you’ll never get bored, and if you’re not careful, you might even

have some fun!

Commitment: 2-4 hours per week, in Oakland office during business hours.

Community Outreach Liaison

If you understand that “community outreach” is just a touchy-feely way of

saying “marketing” in the nonprofit world and think you have what it takes

to sell CIFC’s cooking classes to just about anyone in the Bay Area, and can

do so on a shoestring budget, then this is the job for you!

Commitment: 2-6 hours per week, telecommuting ok, during business hours.

Cooking Class Assistant

Did you miss your true calling as a chef? Do you long to chop vegetables

and/or wash dishes? Then come and help our chef instructors at one or more

of our growing number of cooking classes in the area. Significant fringe

benefits include attending the classes for free, eating any leftovers, and

dish-pan hands!

Commitment: Time and locations vary. Weekdays needed most.

Data Management Ace

Do you dream of a world where all information is neatly organized and easily

accessible? Then put that obsessive-compulsive fantasy into action for a

worthy cause! CIFC is rapidly gathering tons of information, including

mailing lists, names of potential clients, and the like. Help us decide the

best way to maintain and organize our growing database to ensure future

success.

Commitment: 4-6 hours per month, in Oakland office, flexible schedule.

Fundraising Committee Member

Do you while away your leisure hours musing about ways to raise funds for a

worthy cause? Do you salivate at the idea of identifying key donors to

approach for some really big bucks? Are your creative juices just waiting to

be unleashed in the form of sure-fire fundraising ideas? Do you yearn to

write grant proposals? Then help CIFC build for a strong future by joining

our fundraising committee. No experience necessary, as we will provide

training.

Commitment: 3-10 hours per month, telecommuting ok, flexible schedule.

Volunteer Coordinator

Are you a born people person? Do you know people who know people who would

love to volunteer? Do you actually like supervising others and checking up

on them? Then help CIFC manage a growing corps of dedicated volunteers to

keep our activities on track.

Commitment: 3-10 hours per month, telecommuting ok, flexible schedule.

Webmaster (split position with current volunteer)

If you want to polish up your Web design skills for a worthy cause, then

help CIFC get more creative with our lovely site. We’ve got too many updates

and grand ideas for just one volunteer to handle, so help us realize them

and add your own too!

Commitment: 4-6 hours per month, telecommuting ok, flexible schedule.

Ready to Apply?

If any of these jobs floats your boat, or if you have your own ideas for how

you’d like to help our worthy cause, please contact us. For more information

about the CIFC, please visit our Web site at: www.informedeating.org. And

please pass this message along to others. Thank you!
