Guest guest
The good news is: *Berkeley has sorely needed another all vegetarian restaurant, unlike the faker wannabe Long Life Vegi House up the street with their seafood menu. *Vege House in Berkeley, unlike their mostly takeout Oakland branch, has ceramic/glass plates rather than styrofoam. *They have imported their menu from the former location in San Pablo. *They are easily BART accessible and close to theaters, Berkeley activities. The bad news: Their steam table selections, at least on my visit today, included way too many greasy fried tofu and fake meat dishes, most with no vegetables to be found, and poor variety overall. I found one mixed vegetable dish, period. I think ordering off the menu is the way to go. *Regarding an earlier post as to whether there are new carpet fumes, paint odors, etc., I saw no carpeting anywhere. The floor is ceramic tile. I'm sure many of the surfaces have been painted since Vege House took over the location, but I didn't smell any enamel or latex fumes while there myself. Great stuff seeking new owners in Auctions! http://auctions.
