lst show will be on foreign dependency on oil

2nd show is on Fast Food Nations

3rd show is Asar Arafat (sp)

ch 5 7pm

--

VegFair was fun, I saw so so many vegetarian kids with

their vegetarian families. I recommend to make it a

better experience so volunteer a few hours and be part

of it.

I also heard a 3rd friend is moving to Portland OR.

C. will be missed. He will be moving next week.

I hope everyone was able to catch the 60 Minutes

segment. Other than the fact that I got a stomach ache

by just watching, it was well done. It painted the

fast food industry in an awful light. Eric Schlosser

made several compelling points about the health

problems caused by fast food. He also clearly

explained their brainwashing methods.

I hope the piece makes parents think twice about

taking their kids back to the grease pits.

McDonald's, Burger King and the others refused to

comment.

The VP of a restaurant association (can't recall the

name - the NRA for the restaurant industry) agreed to

speak. His arguments were laughable!

I would venture to bet that other news organizations

will follow with similar segments.

I did watch this 60 minute segment on the fast food

industry and the health consequences, especially for

the next generation of kids who eat this " food " .

It is ironic that this aired one day after Bay Area

Veg Fair. I was proud that we collectively, the

speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers,

coordinators and participants helped make Veg Fair a

success and showed our commitment to countering this

fast food trend, and demonstrating better ways to

treat ourselves, the planet and its inhabitants

through our food choices.

Peace,

Stan
