Statewide heart program first in country - Charleston

Daily Mail

Dr. Dean Ornish coaxed Loretta Lamb right out of a

comfortable retirement.

In return, Lamb will be part of the country's first

comprehensive, statewide program to reverse heart

disease in a region well known for its unhealthy

hearts.

Lamb, who retired in 1993 as a cook at Charleston Area

Medical Center's General Hospital, will reprise her

role early next month for 15 lucky participants in the

yearlong Ornish program. But this time around, she'll

prepare meals with less than 10 percent fat.

" I've been used to having meat, " Lamb said. " Now,

there will be no meat, no fat, no caffeine. We do use

a little sugar. "

vegetarian pizza.

Staff at the Edmonton restaurant claim he arrived at

the restaurant 20 minutes after the call with a

handgun.

Police spokesman Dean Parthenis said: " We've see some

bizarre things happen, but this one tops the list. It

certainly had our investigators baffled. "
