This is sure to be a great event, benefiting four

great causes in the

Mission and Castro. Hope you all can come!

Faux Fur Fashion Show at the Café February 22 8 pm

 

 

SAN FRANCISCO - There will be an outrageous Faux Fur

Fashion Show at The

Café at 2367 Market Street on February 22nd to benefit

PAWS (Pets are

Wonderful Support), Maitri (a 15 bed Residence for

People with AIDS),

Dolores Street Community Services (the only adult

shelter provider in the

Mission and Castro), and LYRIC (Lavender Youth

Recreation and Information

Center).

 

This exciting evening will include a daring and trashy

fashion show from

8-9pm with over 20 faux fur items on the runway.

Following the show all

coats, hats, dresses, vests and surprise designs will

be part of a silent

auction to raise funds for the agencies. The cost of

the event is $15 at

the door--please come and show your support.

 

These four agencies have come together in an

unprecedented way to work on

various issues relating to the communities they have

served for years. The

Faux Fur Fashion Show is part of a larger plan to

consolidate some

administrative functions and share expenses. They

recently were awarded

two

grants for technology assessment and planning from The

Pacific Bell

Foundation and the Mayor's Office for Community

Development.

Yeah! I just thought I'd add to this a bit, and encourage ya'll to come.

I've been volunteering with PAWS for a while, and it's a very worth cause.

We spend a lot of time & energy helping to ensure that people with

debilitating AIDS are able to continue living with their companion

animals -- we do everything from arranging vet visits to cleaning litter

boxes. It'll be a really cool event, with some wild animal-free outfits.

 

If anyone would like leafletts to pass around for this event, I should have

by tomorrow night. I'll also be there, volunteering at this event (if you'd

like to volunteer, I think we can find a use for ya).
