To Amy, the self-titled " Newbie " , & all our other new members, welcome! I

think it's so neat when folks take the time to post an intro. If you browse

through the archives, some of us " older " members have posted our intro's, or

you might find info in the Members Database (go the actual

/groups/ homepage and select the link on the

left that says " Database " ) on a few of us (feel free to add yourself) --

here's the direct link /database.

However, this feature is only available to members who have linked their

e-mail address with a ID; if you'd like to do that and need help,

e-mail me privately and I'll send you step-by-step directions on how to do

it.

 

Funny thing, whenever I get together with any of my veggie cohorts,

invariably the conversation always turns to food (gee, I wonder why..) but

I've noticed quite a few folks also like outdoors stuff, which is great.

 

Thanks to the additional folks who've answered the polls. I do enjoy

getting a feel for whose out there! 56 people answered the first question,

about whether you're veg*n or not, single or not. I always thought (and I

hope I don't sound sexist here!) that the number of women who are veg*n

outnumbered the men, but I guess when you factor in actually taking the

poll, the men were more willing to answer.

 

total # of veg*n women = 26

 

total # of veg*n men = 29

total # of not veg*n men = 1

 

I think it's great we have one professed not (yet) veggie on the list. If

there are any others, I encourage you to ask if you have questions! We were

all new at one point, many of us are still learning new things. I remember

some of the early vegan dishes I made/ate.. they were AWFUL. Good thing I

found some good cookbooks; I never would have lasted all these years

otherwise.
