Guest guest
MAIL ART--CALL FOR ENTRIES THEME: Liberate Laboratory Animals! Sponsored by the Berkeley Organization for Animal Advocacy (BOAA) in honor of World Week for Animals in Laboratories (WWAIL) WHAT IS MAIL ART? Mail art refers to both an art movement and a means of artistic expression. It began as part of the DaDa reaction to the limitations of the commercial art world. ANYONE can enter a show, regardless of whether or not you consider yourself an artist! The work of all participants will be shown at the exhibition and online. The work is not for sale and is not returned to participants. ANY PIECE that can legally be sent through the mail can be mail art—including drawings, paintings, collages, computer prints, found objects, sculptures, anything you wish--giving the mail artist great latitude to be creative! If you've never created anything like this before, give it a try! It will be fun and your participation will certainly be appreciated in BOAA's ongoing efforts to liberate laboratory animals! MEDIA: All MAXIMUM SIZE: 8 " x 11 " (Apologies for the restriction, the BOAA mailbox is small!) NO FEES, NO RETURNS, NO JURY, NO AWARDS. ONLINE DOCUMENTATION ONLY.
