Guest guest
Friday-TODAY Intimate Portrait 7pm, I think it's cable channel 46 (or 47). Please email me privately if the show mention in any way about her love of animals and being a vegan. ---- I want to plan a few fund raiser for Howard Lyman's movie making project. Any suggestions? I was thinking of a few dining out events and maybe a silent auction. (silent auctions are fun) If you know someone who wants to donate a massage, a private dinner, homemade cookies or books, etc.., please email me privately. -- Need your expert FEEDBACK. On this email list under FILES in LEFT HAND SIDE. / I have a folder for " Great places for Vegan Pizza " Erik Marus and a lot of us love Pizza but it's not easy to find a special vegan one. Hey, Pete C. has a few great suggestions. 2nd Folder " Restaurants that Incorrectly states that some of their dishes are vegetarian " Have you ever found bits of meat floating in your " vegetarian " meal? How bout restaurants that don't tell you that chicken broth and fish sauce is in your dish? The WORSE is restaurants who has a VEGETARIAN column on their menu but the dishes are not vegetarian. By the way, kind education DID NOT SINK IN to the restaurant workers or the owners. I try to support vegetarian restaurants but due to social and work situations, I have to go to other restaurants. off topic: When venturing out to NEW restaurants, as a courtesy to your guests, (my opinion) I tend to do as much research and ask questions by phone BEFORE arriving at the restaurant. (unless you pretty much know what you're going to order and your questions are short) It's not fair and UNCOMFORTABLE to make my guest wait and listen to a lengthy " is this vegetarian " questions. (I tend to ask one or two quick questions but I heard a certain vegetarian that will go on and on with questions.) I was in their shoes during a restaurant outing. I had to sit thru 8 LONG minutes when my guest were asking over 9 questions about sushi. I was hungry and wanted to order right away. --- I will be leading a bike ride on March 17 for meat out. If you are not biking with me, please cosider doing this: SF Vegetarian society needs volunteers for this FUN event. Lots of energic people will be there! Hello everyone! Sunday, March 17th, we are going to be promoting The Great American Meat-Out. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend, if even for an hour or two. This year we will meet in Speedway Meadows, which is on JFK Dr. just west of the Crossover St intersection. From noon to aprroxiamately 3 p.m. we will be distributing free veggie patties (from Wildwood) and possibly some veggie jerk (from Veggie Deli). The bread is from Vital Vittles and some from House of Bagels. We need lots of volunteers. I arranged for Wildwood and Vital Vittles to deliver donations to Rainbow Grocery on Folsom. Someone will need to pick them on 3/14,Thursday (the Wildwood donation) and on 3/15, Friday (the Vital Vittle donation). Space in your refrigerator is necessary for the veggie patties. House of Bagels will have 3 dozen special custom Kaiser rolls (these are vegan) ready for pick up on Saturday the 16th. One or two 'BBQ chefs' need to start the fire around 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Some sandwich makers need to be there around 11 to set-up table with bread, mustard, etc.. and leaflets/pamphlets. The Health Dept. will be there to inspect. They haven't told me a time, but I am guessing around 11. Then we need lots of people to pass out the veggie patties and literature. We also need a clean-up crew. Please contact Jennifer Doob at jkdoophi @aol.com to volunteer. She will know which jobs are needed to fill. Thanks so much, and hope to see you all there.
