Guest guest
Hi all, To Dan & the other new folks, welcome! > I love this group idea! I would like to meet similar people who are > interested in having potlucks, hikes, mountain biking, sno boarding > and everything that friends-good friends do. That was exactly our thinking, too :-) We're going to try and organize some " live " in-person events... a picnic at GG Park next month and a local camping trip in June. If you look through the archives, there's other bike rides, etc happening. Be sure to check out the calendar too (its at the groups homepage).... Oh! You should look for Erhhung's e-mail address (search the archives online) as he has a separate young/active veggie list for outdoor stuff. I don't know if there's a link to it in the bookmarks section or if you can find it via searching , but Erhhung just posted a few days ago so you can contact him via that. He's always doing some neat outdoors stuff.. If there's activities you would like to do, or questions you have, etc., just post to the list. Chances are there is someone with a common interest or who may have an answer (or the same question) as you do. > I would love to hear about you people and get together as groups or > whatever and do fun things. I always feel great around fellow > veggiez! I always think its great when people post intros! If you look through the archives, you'll see other intros. If you go to the homepage, and select the " Database " link on the left, there's a Members database and you can read a bit more about people there (entirely voluntary to be listed) This list is relatively new (about 6 months) and I think still growing. We're fortunate to have a veggie friendly environment here in the Bay Area, and several of us do know each other from other veggie activities/interests. But I think this list is also finding a different population of people, which is great! > EVERYONE, feel free to email me dan_8211 and get to know > me. I don't know the etiquette for these group things but I saw a > posting for this group on Craigs so I figured I'd join. I'm glad I > did. I'm glad you saw our listing and joined up! According to one of the polls (again, on the homepage, see the " Polls " link), only 16% of people come from Craigs but I personally think it is much higher, probably more like 40-50%..... That's great that you were born veggie, you have an advantage that most of us don't (most of the people I know who are veg*n were not born veg*n)... I hope you can make it to our 6-month birthday party... it's going to be the 1st Saturday in April at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. More details to follow (such as exact location & time). Hope to see many SFBAVeg'ers there! Cheers, Tammy " Perform a death-defying act.... Go Vegan! Guest guest
Hi Dan and All, I would love to also do a kayaking trip this summer with anyone interested - I guided in Alaska for 15 years and have been wanting to find friends who share the same eating values ( I'm a raw veg - like a sub-breed). A rafting trip would be fun too. anyone interested in co-planning something?? Karen Tammy <meowthunk wrote: Hi all, To Dan & the other new folks, welcome! > I love this group idea!
