Guest guest
Just this evening, at Other Avenues, the natural food store cooperative in the Sunset District of SF, I ran into Kamal, whom some of you may remember as the chef at the now defunct Organicity restaurant. He told me he was delivering some vegan desserts that he makes, and gave me one to try: " Vegan Tiramisu. " It was flavorful and sweet. I am not familiar with tiramisu, but it tasted to me like a sponge cake, filled with chocalate mousse, and topped with vanilla pudding. Though he doesn't use whole foods, I would still recommend it. Here is the ingredients list (many are noted as organic): Cake: Unbleached wheat flour, water, fructose, expeller pressed canola oil, baking powder, vanilla extract, vegetable starches, salt. Vegan Mascarpone: Silken tofu, jasmine rice, fructose, coconut milk, expeller pressed canola oil, vanilla extract, hazelnut extract, xhantan gum, sea salt. Chocalate Ganache: Coca butter, rapadura, espresso, spiced rum, fructose, hazelnut extract. ************************************************* He also makes a few other vegan desserts, including a cheesecake... Good wishes, Jon
