Guest guest
http://www.grizzlypeakcyclists.org/current.html I will be there doing the easy 23 mile ride. I am not the leader. Several veggies are members of this club but I do not know if they will be riding this ride. Expect 60 riders on this ride, different routes though. Sat Apr 13 Bike Ride Beginning to Advance, 23, 65 (51), 80 miles Second Saturday Ride (see article elsewhere) There are three hilly rides which all meet towards the west end of the main Orinda BART parking lot at 9:00 a.m. for a 9:15 departure. You sign up on separate signup sheets for the ride pace of your choice: a 23-mile Larghetto group (moderately slow), a 65-mile Allegretto group (a bit faster) including a 51-mile bailout option, and an 80-mile Presto group (faster yet). Feel free to switch groups at any point in the ride: intermingling of pace groups is encouraged. It is recommended that all three groups ride " all-club style " (embodying the GPC club spirit) at a moderate pace behind the leaders and stay together from the start to the Castro Ranch corner. The Larghettos complete the Time Trial loop via Alhambra and the Bears. The Allegrettos climb Pig Farm, Reliez Valley, take Olympic, head through Danville, Norris Canyon and Redwood. The Prestos head north through Pinole, Crockett and McEwen, but rejoin the Allegretto route on Reliez. The Allegretto and Presto groups (hopefully) reconnect for lunch at Diablo Deli in the Diablo Plaza (just past Crow Canyon). Leaders for the Larghettos: Ken Karda & Kirstin Whitsett; Allegrettos: Mark Sapiro & Jennifer Easton; Prestos: Mark Abrahams & David Lipsky. For info (or if weather looks doubtful on morning of ride) contact SSR Coordinator (this month) Mark Sapiro msapiro or (415) 388-8910. --- in the works: Lunch at a Chinese Buddhist temple with Chinatown Shopping and History Walk, fundraiser for Howard Lyman -- In SF there are ONLY TWO Taco Bells left!
