Dear Friends,

Please find attached your *personal* invitation to the protest outside this

year's Safeway Shareholder Meeting in San Ramon. You will find more

information on the campaign at: http://www.shameway.com, where you may also

find yourself motivated to come out as we voice our concerns on behalf of

the animals. If you have any questions or if you'd like to be involved in

the planning, feel free to get in touch with me.

Best regards,

Alka

* PLEASE RSVP

We know that everyone is working incredibly hard, and that we have to pick

and choose what we have time for. Please consider making this years Safeway

annual meeting protest a priority. Take the afternoon off work, grab all

your friends and loved ones along with you, and help us protest Safeway's

complete refusal to address animal welfare concerns. We need this event to

be as large as possible, as Safeway's CEO and all of Safeway's top

decision-makers, and the media, will be in attendance. Find out more about

the campaign at www.Shameway.com <http://www.Shameway.com>.

NOTE: Since it's their annual shareholder meeting, we can expect all of

Safeway's people to be in business attire. We needn't be that formal, since

we'll be standing outside, but please don't wear shorts, jeans, or T-shirts.

* What: Protest at the Safeway Annual Shareholder Meeting

* When: May 16, 12:15-1:30 p.m. (Please be there at 12:15 sharp)

* Where: San Ramon Marriott Hotel, 2600 Bishop Drive, San Ramon, CA

* Who: PETA and FSJP (Food & Social Justice Project)

* Why: PETA has been campaigning against Safeway since June, and thus far,

the corporation has refused to make even one improvement in the living and

dying conditions of the animals slaughtered for its stores.

* PLEASE RSVP, so we know how many signs, etc., to bring along.
