DEMO/GET WELL/BON VOYAGE/BIRTHDAY/RAFFLE/BRUNCH

As many of you know, I was diagnosed with breast cancer 14 years ago,

had surgery only, no chemo or radiation and I have had 14 years of

excellent health. Within the last year the cancer spread to my left lung

in the form of fluid in my lung lining (pleural effusion) and the

prognosis is somewhat uncertain. My breathing is sometimes labored, I

have lost weight and I have reduced energy.

 

I am planning a Safeway Demo/Get Well/Bon Voyage/ Birthday/Raffle/Brunch

PARTY - hope to see you.

 

DEMO TIME: Sunday, May 12th at 10:30 AM

 

DEMO WHERE: Safeway - corner of College and Claremont in Berkeley.

 

REASONS FOR DEMO: see http://www.shameway.com

 

DIRECTIONS TO DEMO: 3 or 4 Blocks North (toward Berkeley) from the

College Ave. Rockridge BART station. Safeway is on the same corner as a

Union 76 gas station. If driving, please consult Mapquest for Demo and

Party locations as everyone will be coming from different directions.

The nearest exit is Claremont Avenue off Hwy. 24.

 

PARTY AFTER DEMO WHERE: Joaquin Miller Park Community Center - 3594

Sanborn Drive, Oakland, CA (in the Redwoods of Joaquin Miller Park). We

will have car pooling to the party from the Safeway.

 

PARTY TIME: Sunday, May 12th, from 12 to 2.

 

DIRECTIONS TO PARTY: About 10 minutes drive from the Demo at Safeway.

Off Route 13 in Oakland, Joaquin Miller/ Lincoln Exit. Turn left on

Joaquin Miller and go up the hill toward Woodminster Amphitheathe and

Community Center. Turn left into 2nd Sanborn entrance in the Park and

watch for signs for Community Center.

FOOD: A tasty catered vegan brunch will be provided. MUSIC: A musician

will lead us in singalongs.

 

CARDS ONLY: NO GIFTS PLEASE. I would love to have colorful cards from my

AR/veggie friends.

 

BIRTHDAY BONUS: There will be a free drawing for 20 checks of $240 each

for any animal or veggie group named by the winner (could be your own

group). Come and register and win! Winners will be asked to tell a

two-minute joke, short story or poem (joke/parody books will be provided

for those who forget).

 

BRING YOUR GROUP LITERATURE/SIGNS/PETITIONS TO THE PARTY. Table

provided.

 

(Wear hiking shoes if you wish to spend the afternoon hiking in the

redwoods at Joaquin Miller Park).

Also indicate T-shirt sizes (M-L-XL) as I designed a complimentary

veggie T-shirt.

 

PS - If you are unable to attend, I would be very happy to receive a
