WHAT: When the Whales Stopped Singing: The Dangers of U.S. Navy Sonar

The U.S. Navy is blasting extremely powerful sonic waves, called Low Frequency

Active Sonar, into the ocean to detect quiet submarines. Undeniable evidence has

proven that LFA Sonar causes fatal hemorrhaging in the brains, eyes, and ears of

whales, dolphins, and other marine mammals. Please join us for an informative

discussion about how we can formulate an effective community response to this

threat. The presentation, given by George Taylor of Bay Area ecology group

Seaflow, will include video, discussion, and letter-writing. Free. For more

information, call (415) 258-4877.

WHEN: Sunday April 28th 1:30 p.m.

WHERE: First Unitarian Church, Oakland; 685 14th Street & Castro (Directions at

http://www.uuoakland.org/directions.html)

PLEASE PASS THIS ON
