Guest guest Posted May 10, 2002 Report Share Posted May 10, 2002 What is the address for the Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade? startherehealth [startherehealth] Thursday, May 09, 2002 4:26 PM [sFBAVeg] Unfortunate Golden Era lunch today I love Golden Era restaurant in San Francisco, and I wanted to be a part of supporting the Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade (today 10% of proceeds go to that organization). So I went there for lunch today. Unfortunately, we never got our food and we witnessed 3 other tables walk out before their food arrived, too. If you're going there for dinner tonight to contribute your 10%, consider sending 20 bucks directly to the Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade - and go to Golden Era tomorrow when it's not so crowded. Guest guest Posted May 10, 2002 Report Share Posted May 10, 2002 Hello all, Sorry to hear about this happening at one of my favorite places, but to be honest, I have found that certain of the staff don't understand what I order, but pretend like they do, and bring the wrong thing. This has been the case ever since that young Polish man who waited tables there returned to Poland. I hope they're treating the staff okay there too, because I sometimes get the impression that the non-English speakers are miserable (just my gut impression, nothing tangible to back that up with). Maybe they need some barter arrangement to get ESL lessons for the non-English speakers (free meals in exchange for ESL lessons from trained instructors). Of course, this won't solve the problem of glacially slow service...
