Guest guest
From yesterday's Chronicle: PIZZA HUT NAMED IN VEGGIE SUIT Seattle attorney Harish Bharti, who last represented vegetarians against McDonald's because the company used beef extract in fries, has now gone after Pizza Hut. Bharti has filed a class-action complaint in King County, Wash., on behalf of two named plaintiffs and " 16 million vegetarians and Hindus " accusing Pizza Hut " of false and fraudulent marketing of vegetarian pizza, " because the company uses pizza cheese that contains beef enzymes. A Pizza Hut representative confirmed to India West that " our cheese does contain beef and vegetable enzymes. " Bharti feels he has a stronger case against the pizza company because McDonald's did not package its fries as vegetarian. McDonald's recently agreed to donate $10 million to various community organizations and pay each of the 12 names plaintiffs $4,000.
