Great Vegan Burritos in SF

Hi there,

Just wanted to respond to Jon's request for healthy burritos in San

Francisco.

The only place I have found burritos made with brown rice is at the Whole

Foods Market on California. They have a burrito bar where you can have tasty

wraps custom-made. Options include brown rice, black beans, pinto beans,

roasted vegetables, whole wheat tortillas and guacamole. They're not very

authentic but do taste good. A burrito will set you back about $6.

Another tasty and healthy burrito can be found at Rico's on Columbus in

North Beach. Their veggie burrito uses white (seasoned) rice but is made

with a whole wheat tortilla, black beans (no lard) and some nice roasted

vegetables. Cost: about $5.

For a more authentic, less " healthy " burrito, try Taquerio Cancun in the

Mission. Their vegetarian burritos (hold the cheese for vegan) consistently

rank #1 in SF, and at around $3.50 a wrap, are very tasty and satisfying.

They only offer white flour tortillas and white rice, but they are good and

cheap!

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Colleen
