Congrats! on getting your friend to watch the video, I doubt I could

get anyone to do that. I think you should celebrate by going to a

veggie restaurant together

But your story reminds me of something. Does anyone have this

experience- people who don't argue with your vegetarianism, but yet

aren't vegetarian themselves, who get very proud and like to announce

to you about how little meat they are eating lately? this is not a

complaint, but always puzzling to me. My boyfriend, who will most

likely never go veggie, likes to tell me about all the veggie things

he's been eating, and I just act indifferent bc I don't know if he

just wants my approval or what. I could shower these people with

praise, but I don't feel that what other people decide to eat should

have much to do with my reaction.

I do get the people that tell me (after they find out

I don't eat meat) 'Oh, I don't really eat meat

either--maybe some chicken sometimes'. I much prefer

comments over that than the 'Why bother?' defensive

comments I sometimes get. I think all in all not

eating meat is an admirable thing. A lot of people

believe its the right thing to do yet don't follow

through on their convictions---I know, I've been

there. Once my husband and I decided eating meat

wasn't the 'right' thing for us to do, we jumped in

with both feet. *My 4 year old son makes sure what he

is eating is meatless before he will eat.* I found

more often that other people besides the

Vegans/Vegetarians like to talk about your choices

more than you do.

Happy to be part of this list and discussions.

Dear Friends,

Bruce Friedrich just forwarded the very exciting news to me that PR Week

wants photographs from our demonstration tomorrow. This is encouraging, and

falls in line with Bruce's feeling that the media will be more likely

(rather than less) to cover the presence. Again, this is our chance to

celebrate our strength in advocating for the animals.

Best,

Alka
