Women arrested for protesting on restaurant

June 29, 2001

 

SAN FRANCISCO – Polly Strand, a 68-year-old Berkeley

resident, along with Erica Sutherlan, a 19-year-old

student and Jennifer Schneider, a 32-year-old San

Francisco resident were arrested Wednesday after

climbing onto the roof of a San Francisco Burger King

during a protest sponsored by People for the Ethical

Treatment of Animals.

 

The animal rights organization wants Burger King to

commit to maintaining the animals it uses in more

humane conditions.
