Guest guest
http://www.sfgate.com/eguide/food/farmersmarkets/ The market I go to is only known by locals, called Perry's Farm in Fremont-Ardenwood Regional Park. It's a totally organic farm that grows LOCAL lettuce for companies such as Verititable Vegetable. For around a dollar you get a head of ORGANIC lettuce twice the size of normal lettuce sold by super markets cause the outer leaves are fresh and edible. It's located on HWY 84 at Ardenwood exit just right after crossing the Dumbarton Bridge. The have the sweetest tomatoes and the freshest corn (comes with the worm). In a month their local corn will be available. There's no worm in the BEGINNING of the corn season. They are currently selling organic corn from another farm for $1 each. The price will eventually go down to 2 for $1. Towards the end of the tomatoe season, U PICk tomatoes are available for folks who can buy 40 lb or more. In the past, they had customers spending hours tramping in the tomatoe patches and purchased only a few tomatoes. Perry's is the closest U PICK place around. Open 7 days a week, closed during winter. 510 793 6658. We are lucky Farmer Perry is open this year. He lost money last year and wasn't sure if he will open this year. Farmer Perry is a really nice guy who loves his work....He is over 60 years old - Official partner of 2002 FIFA World Cup http://fifaworldcup.
