Guest guest
Writer Compton agrees with SFBA Veg's Sunny_Outdoors on Kam's. Here's what she said.. Bob Finds Laura Compton Sunday, June 9, 2002 San Francisco Chronicle On a particularly downtrodden block of Mission Street, Kam's Vegetable Restaurant is a breath of fresh air - and fresh food. The minimally furnished space has a few tables in front, a counter where Sabima Ng serves up smoothies and Peerless coffee, and a salad bar packed with hearty fare. Noodles, sushi, soup, exotic greens and macrobiotic salads are tailor-made for vegetarians, vegans or anyone in search of a whopping dose of antioxidants. Soy and tofu abound, though sodas, Snapple and commercial dressings are also available. Look closely and you'll see signs asking " What's missing in your body? " and admonishing you to " Save the world. " Ng, who has worked in several Chinese restaurants, says, " Too much oil - I wanted people healthy. " And it doesn't have to cost much. For less than $5, you can walk out with a veggie lunch fit for a king - and a rice cookie made with honey to finish it off. .
