Guest guest Posted June 19, 2002 Report Share Posted June 19, 2002 Hi everyone, We are so excited to announce that in addition to organizing TWO " Walks for Farm Animals " to raise money for Farm Sanctuary (September 7th Oakland; October 26th San Francisco), we are throwing a party to get us geared up and to increase the amount of money we raise for farm animals. WHAT: City Tea for Country Critters: Fundraising Party for Farm Sanctuary (The theme will be a " tea party " ) WHEN: Sunday, August 18th 4:00 p.m. WHY: Farm Sanctuary is dedicated to ending the exploitation of animals used for food production. They work tirelessly to rescue abused/neglected farmed animals, raise awareness about the suffering of the 10 billion animals a year who are killed, and to pass legislation to get legal protection for farmed animals. WHERE: The First Unitarian Church of Oakland -- 685 14th Street Oakland, CA WHO: Alka Chandna of the Food and Social Justice Project and Colleen A. Patrick from Unitarian Universalists for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. DONATION: Sliding scale: $5-$20 -- Goes directly to Farm Sanctuary to help abused animals. Donation includes delicious food, drinks, music, door prizes, silent auction, entertaining games, and a special speaker. It will also be the opportunity to sign up as WALKERS or as PLEDGERS! P.S.
