Whether you know a lot...a little...or nothing at all about the night sky, this will be a good chance to learn about the planets and stars above Northern California while enjoying the company of fellow veggies for good conversation...tasty vegy snacks...and perhaps a shooting star or two. Although a telescope is nice, binoculars will do just fine... and if all else fails, we will be doing mostly " naked-eye " astronomy. Things will get under way at 8:00 PM (while we still can see each other!) to give us all a chance to socialize...and as the sun gradually sinks under the Western horizon, more of the night sky will present itself to us. Other recommended things to bring: flashlight, bug repellant, sweatshirt with hood, comfortable shoes with socks, and layers of clothes to dampen any chill from the evening air.
