Vegetarian Cooking Class

Sensational Salads:

Beyond the Familiar Greens

 

In honor of summer and all the entertaining that naturally follows, we are

offering a class that focuses solely on super salads! These yummies are perfect

for bringing to potlucks, parties, or veggie barbeques or for impressing the

family right at home.

 

ON THE MENU:

-Veggie Pasta Salad w/Pine Nuts

-Saffron Basmati Salad

-Salade Nicoise

-White Bean Salad

-Quinoa and Corn Salad

-Lemon Bundt Cake

 

WHEN: Sunday, July 28th -- 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

WHERE: First Unitarian Church of Oakland -- Wendte Hall/Kitchen

COST: $20

INSTRUCTORS: Alka Chandna of the Food & Social Justice Project is a seasoned

instructor that has taught countless classes. The Food & Social Justice Project

is an educational nonprofit, aimed at drawing connections between food choices

and the larger plate of social justice issues (environmental concerns, labor

concerns, public health issues, globalization, distribution of resources, etc.).

Colleen A. Patrick organizes Oakland's chapter of Unitarian Universalists for

the Ethical Treatment of Animals (UFETA), which is dedicated to raising animal

awareness and consciousness.

humane aspects of a vegetarian diet.
