Hi all,

I know many of y'all do lots of great volunteer work with veggie & AR

nonprofit groups. If the group needs design services to help get

their message out there, here's perhaps a free way to get some!

Contact information is in post below.

Cheers,

Tammy

BAY AREA NONPROFITS INVITED TO APPLY FOR DESIGN SERVICES FROM THE ART

INSTITUTE OF CALIFORNIA – SAN FRANCISCO

" Community Arts Resource Exchange " Links Students with Local

Nonprofits

SAN FRANCISCO (July 17, 2002) – San Francisco Bay Area nonprofit

groups are invited to apply for design and multimedia services from

The Art Institute of California – San Francisco as part of the

school's community service initiative to benefit local nonprofits.

The design services will be provided for no charge through the

school's Community Arts Resource Exchange (C.A.R.E.) program, which

gives design students opportunities to apply their art and design

talents to projects that support the needs of the community.

Nonprofit groups may apply for assistance in areas such as logo

development, poster design, brochures, flyers, postcards and other

marketing collateral material, as well as multimedia projects,

computer animation sequences, web site review and other projects that

fit into the school's design classes. The school currently offers

degree programs in Graphic Design, Multimedia & Web Design, Media

Arts & Animation, Game Art & Design and Fashion Design.

Through this community service initiative, students can make a

positive impact on their local community by contributing their

creative skills in art and design. Nonprofits benefit by receiving

pro-bono work from up-and-coming designers and visual artists.

To apply for project assistance from the school, local nonprofit

groups must fill out a Community Service Project Request From,

available from Dan Soine, Director of Public Relations, The Art

Institute of California – San Francisco, 1170 Market Street, San

Francisco, CA 94102, tel. 415-865-0198, ext. 2533, fax 415-863-5831,

e-mail soined or visit www.aicasf.aii.edu. The school reviews

requests to determine feasibility and whether they will match with

class projects.

The Art Institute of California – San Francisco has worked on pro-

bono projects or supported several community groups including City

CarShare, Communities for a Better Environment, Project Fit America,

San Francisco Clothing Bank, YMCA, Market Street

Association's " People in Plazas " concert series and AIDS Walk San

Francisco.

The Art Institute of California - San Francisco offers degree

programs in Graphic Design, Multimedia & Web Design, Media Arts &

Animation, Game Art & Design, and Fashion Design. For more

information, call (415) 865-0198 or visit the school's web site at

www.aicasf.aii.edu.
