Here I am

Thanks Tammy for your invitation. I guess I put an intro out in

for a particular reason--to find a daily walking partner. But of course, I would

like to do an intro to all the veggies in the bay area.

If you have already read the intro by pei-fang in , please

disregard this message.

First of all, my name pronounces Pei-Fang Fang /pay-fong fong/. I didn't realize

how annoying it is until I heard lots of telemarketers call me pee-fan, pie-fang

in the morning, and my first American landlord teasing me as " payphone. " So, the

easiest way is to call me Pei /pay/.

I've been vegetarian since 13. Although it started because of zen buddhism,

after 14 years, it has become a way of life for me. I might change my way of

practicing spirituality, but you will have to alter my genetic code to make me

eat animals. I love plants and animals and enjoy activities that involves

observation of nature. One of my favorite things during weekends is to row a

boat and watch the birds with binoculars in the middle of the Lake Chabot. I

shall say I'm pretty peaceful by myself, and I'm pretty happy with company.

Since I moved to San Jose last May, I have been very involved with work as a

social worker for Asian Americans in Silicon Valley. Although the system

treated us like slaves, I love what I do, and I do well what I love. Because

I'm 24hr on-call, I might get a crisis call in the middle of the potluck dinner,

and you'll see me head toward my car. You know what that is.

Hi Pei-Fang!

I'm glad you decided to do an intro... but... you didn't send it to

SFBAVeg list, only to the Southbay list. I think it'd be great to

also post it to the SFBAVeg list. As you've been gotten to read

everyone else's intros, I'm sure others will appreciate seeing yours.
