Guest guest
Hi, my name is Wayne Huey. I am a vegetarian of about 20 years now. How did it began ? Back in high school, I was taking a gymnastic class. Guess who my teacher was ? It was Mrs. Dixie Mahy, who has been the president of SF Vegetarian Society for many years. Her and another high school teacher planted the seeds on why eating veggies, grains, and healthy foods are the way to go. In college while taking a nutrition class, my term project was to go on a 3 months vegi diet and record how I felt, etc.Because I felt so great on this diet, I never looked back and stayed with the vegetarian way of life after this term project in college. These days I am about 95% vegan, eating plenty of dehydrator cookies, steamed veggies grains , and brown rice. In my early 20's I decided to follow my passion and take a chance. I went to China to become a Chinese Acrobat. I started my training at age 23,when 99.9 % of all Chinese Acrobats in China start at age 6-8 yrs old. On top of that I was a vegetarian. The school acrobatic teachers thought I was going to faint or die in class because the training is extremely crueling and punishing. I made it thru the 6 years of training in China. It has been about 11 years since returning back from China and performing full time. I spend about 2 years working for Disney in Florida in 1993, now I freelance performing for schools, parties, festivals, and special events in the Bay Area . This year Oct 13 ,I will be performing at the SF World Vegetarian Day. Besides performing Acrobatics, I teach Tai Chi twice a week and am a personal fitness trainer to a small group of students. Currently single and looking.
