Guest guest
This list beats brand X. Another oldtimer. As an apolitical sports enthusiast living in southern NJ in '68, I encountered a live lobster tank at a restaurant. It started me thinking about the contradiction between my diet and my feelings toward past and then present animal companions. I soon decided to quit eating meat. I knew of no vegetarians and nothing about nutrition or health food stores. I just started eating cheese sandwiches. Luckily, after a while, I found a local progressive columnist who was vegetarian. He wrote about vegan pioneer Jay Dinshah. A few years later I discovered the American Vegan Society and have been vegan since then. I am retired (accounting) and moved from San Francisco to Santa Cruz a couple years ago. There are a number of good reasons to avoid animal products and support " Animal Rights " . Good to see people connecting up through SFBAVEG. Bob
