I have seen it at Whole Foods in SF and Berkeley, but haven't tried it.

Note: It is NOT vegan, as it contains some egg and dairy products. The

protein is derived from mushrooms but is not a whole food. Their lab

produced it: mycoprotein. Claimed to be highly digestible, and yet it's

fermented, which most nutritionists will tell you is generally not good for

digestion (ditto for fungi for many people).

But if someone isn't vegan and willing to check it out, go for it. I try not

to eat too much processed foods, but if it were vegan I would at least try

it, too. Here's a little blurb from their Web site(www.quorn.com):

Quorn products typically contain between 11 to 15 grams of protein per 100

grams, most of which comes from mycoprotein. Small amounts of protein also

come from egg albumen and milk proteins added in the manufacter of Quorn

products.

Hi Howard. My name is Claudia Lombana and I'm a producer for

Channel-5 in San Francisco. I'm working on a story on a meat substitute

product called " Quorn " . Do you know anyone who eats it? I'm looking for a

consumer of quorn that would be willing to answer a couple of simple

questions on camera. Can you help? Just let me know. Thanks a lot.

Sincerely,

Claudia Lombana
