Dear all,

It has been brought to my attention that individuals on this list are

sending mean-spirited, abusive messages to other SFBAVeg'ers who post

messages that they don't agree with. And this is not the first time it's

happened. Just today we had one person leave the list because of this

unwelcome reception.

I realize that just because we are all veg*ns, that does not mean we are all

going to get along or even agree. I also realize that everyone is entitled

to their own opinion. However, I feel it is necessary to remind everyone

that the above behavior is *not* nice and expressly prohibited in our

community charter. As specifically stated in the charter, which every new

member receives and it's also sent out monthly,

" Individuals or organizations that repeatedly violate the posting guidelines

of SFBAVeg, or harass other list members, whether by posts on SFBAVEG or by

privately sent posts, may be moderated or banned at the discretion of the

list administration. Evidence of any abuse of this list should be sent,

along with any complaint, to the list-admin. Unsigned (anonymous) e-mails

will be discarded. "

You can see the full charter here: http://www.generationv.org/charter.html

I'm not trying to stifle your right to express yourself or your right to

disagree. I'm merely saying what should be an unspoken rule -- you can

disagree without calling names, being mean, or otherwise hurtful actions.

I realize that only a few people are engaging in this type of behaviour.

Sorry to have to bother the rest of you about this... But I thought this was

too important to let pass. This just shows that vegetarians are capable of

violent thoughts...

Cheers,

Tammy
