Guest guest
I'm finding people writing posts that have nothing to do with the reason for the listserv. someone forwarding someone else's email who isn't even a vege? because for whatever reasons they claim they can't take it? we'll get those arguments till the cows come home- or until they go thru the slaughterhouse. & people on the list who aren't even veges? aren't there lists for meat eaters out there? for lacto-ovos? or whatever they're called? this is like being on a Take Back The Night March for women only, then the men say oh no, we'll join. don't we have enough energy dispensed on people like this in our every day life? i like the concept of the list itself: Vegan. i'm interested not in others defintitions-- i can go to the dictionary, like someone thoughtfully provided here- i'm interested in the vegan restaurants, etc., animal rights in general. hello list serv moderators? Guest guest
Last time I checked, this isn't a vegan-only list. It's for anyone interested in vegetarianism, regardless of personal position on the Path. -Kim On Thu, 1 Aug 2002, CHERYL BURKET wrote: > I'm finding people writing posts that have nothing to do with the reason > for the listserv. someone forwarding someone else's email who isn't even a > vege? because for whatever reasons they claim they can't take it? we'll > get those arguments till the cows come home- or until they go thru the > slaughterhouse. & people on the list who aren't even veges? aren't there > lists for meat eaters out there? for lacto-ovos? or whatever they're > called? this is like being on a Take Back The Night March for women only, > then the men say oh no, we'll join. don't we have enough energy dispensed > on people like this in our every day life? i like the concept of the list > itself: Vegan. i'm interested not in others defintitions-- i can go to the > dictionary, like someone thoughtfully provided here- i'm interested in the > vegan restaurants, etc., animal rights in general. hello list serv > moderators? > > On Thu, 1 Aug 2002, Tim T wrote: > > > Methinks this group is getting a wee bit too > > touchy-feely, and straying from the harsh concept > > known as... reality. > > > > I haven't seen anyone point fingers in their posts. > > What several people have had the audacity to do is > > provide cogent, valid definitions of 'vegetarian.' > > If you or whoever make the choice to function in a > > manner inconsistent or contradictory to the simple > > definition of 'vegetarian,' that's your perogative, > > but please be a little less sensitive & a little more > > sensible about your reaction.
