We don't want to make Jay go fishing, do we??!! Time Out on the Fish talk!

I think everyone has had ample opportunity to express themselves regarding

that topic.... Please, can we move on to something else!?? (Others have

also said this to me personally and via e-mail...)

A few years ago, I had this manager -- very bright young woman with a

Masters degree in Business who was dieting. We were having a meeting and

someone had some fried crunchy snacks with them. They offered some to our

manager. She said " No, I can't eat real food. Only fruits and vegetables. "

I was totally taken aback by her reply!

I am curious about something. Most of us do not work at home, we work in

offices or shared space with others. Do your co-workers know you are veg*n?

Are they curious about your dietary preference and ask why? Or do they try

to stay as far away as possible in case it's contagious? How many of you

have visible displays of veg*n stuff, like mugs or posters, etc? Does it

work??

I worked at Pac Bell in San Ramon several years ago. On my first day there,

I found in the break rooms that someone had put up a veggie information

sign, along with her name and phone number. Of course I immediately had to

call her, we became friends, met other veggies... Although we did not work

in the same department, it was just nice to have that " veg connection " at

work.

Thanks to Pramod for organizing a great downtown SF lunch earlier this week!

We had to put 3 tables together for all of us, and it was quite fun. FYI,

Arabi told us they have specials on Friday. Their soup & sandwich is

discounted (I don't remember the price) as is their 3 salad offer (normally

$5.95, on sale for $4.50) -- and they have all types of salads, hummus, baba

ghanouj, tabouli, usually various grain/bean salads, vegetable salads,

etc....

Dinner tonite at Golden Era was also great -- we had 2 big tables, and lots

of good food. It's always fun to meet fellow SFBAVeg'ers.

Cheers,

Tammy
