Guest guest
One thing I respect about folks who have chosen veganism is they seem to accept responsibility for their own actions. If I had the power to drive folks to anything, it would be veganism, consideration, kindness, and compassion, but it seems to me that nobody can make any adult with a functional mind choose or do anything against their will short of using violence. Vegans aren't victims of advertising gimmicks, uninformed doctors, and big business concerns who want us kept in the dark; we make our own informed choices. And many of us, once we've learned of the manipulations that dictated our previous decisions, want to alter the status quo. I've read that the oldest intellectual activity known to humankind is trying to control the actions of others. Dale Carnegie wrote, " Any fool can condemn, complain, and criticize, and most do. " Instead, offer an alternative. If you have THE solution, let's hear it; we'd all like to move on. A different topic, write it up. But if you don't like the content, hit the delete key before you choose to let the opinions of others dictate your actions. Why be a victim of other people's opinions when we can't control what others think? What do folks think about a poll? We call our country a democracy, let's vote on what we on this list will consider a vegetarian, and let it stand at that. It really doesn't matter anyway. If I call myself a pacifist then beat someone up who disagrees with me, am I a pacifist? I am judged by my actions, not my words; as we see, words are difficult to agree on.
