Thanks to Shari from Animal Protection Institute (API)

in Sacramento, she gave me a stack of postcards to

encourage restaurants to be vegetarian friendly.

Here's what the postcard said, feel free to print it

out to restaurants.

Dear Restaurant Manager,

I would like to patronize your restaurant more often,

but I find my food options limited by a lack of

vegetarian and vegan items. If you are confused by

these terms, a " vegetarian " diet excludes all animal

flesh, including fish and poultry, while a " vegan "

diet has no animal products, including eggs and dairy.

Offerring more meatless options is good for business.

The number of people who routinely eat

vegetarian/vegan meals, even though they do not

consider vegetarian, is growing rapidly. According to

a survey conducted for the National Restaurant

Association, about 20% of people look for a restaurant

with vegetarian options, and more than 30% would order

non-meat items if available.

Please consider adding more vegetarian and vegan

items, especially entrees, to your menu.

Sincerely,

Please note spelling and grammar errors in this message before you copy and use

it:

Offerring [spelled, offering] more meatless options is good for business.

The number of people who routinely eat

vegetarian/vegan meals, even though they do not

consider [themselves to be] vegetarian...

I'm sure it was an oversight or typo, but just to point it out.

  • 1 year later...

in Message 2128, an informational postcard that will educate

restaurants what are " veg " items.

Also, based on message 2144's corrections, the mispelling and grammar

problems have been corrected
